Summer Session is a place for your child to grow and explore through engaging activities like yoga, music, movement, studio & culinary arts, and outdoor fun. For the first time ever, we have a special theme planned for each week! Read on to learn about weekly enriching activities and visiting specialists.
What’s in store for Session One:
Week #1: Yoga, Movement, and Music with specialist Siewli Stark
Children will explore movement with Siewli Stark, a certified yoga instructor with a passion for teaching mindfulness to children. She even uses the ukulele to bring more fun into her classes! Catch her weekly Mommy and Me Yoga classes at Manny Canter Fitness Center.
Week #2: Studio Arts in our own “studio in a classroom”
Children will spend time creating anything they can imagine, as their “Home” (classroom) 309 is transformed into a dedicated art studio space for the summer.
Week #3: Fitness with Popfit Kids
In addition to joining us for fitness fun on a weekly basis, Popfit Kids will dedicate this week to engaging children in unique fitness classes designed especially for us!
Week #4: Drama with PaperBag Players
We end session 1 with NYC’s legendary drama program! Children will learn improvisation, movement, and how to use props.
What’s in store for Session Two:
Week #1: Animals Week with special guest Art Farm in the City
Children will get up close and personal with animals during special classroom visits!
Week #2: Culinary Arts Week
Children will explore different cultures through food and learn how to make delicious items from around the world. During this week, parents and caregivers are invited to share their recipes and culinary skills by coming into the classrooms and cooking with the children.
Week #3: Yoga, Movement, and Music with specialist Siewli Stark.
Siewli and her ukulele will join us again to wind down the summer with special tunes and more yoga moves.Print This Post
