Classes for Young Artists (Ages 9-13)
This after-school ceramics course indulges the creative curiosities of young sculptors-to-be. We invite students to delve into the decorative and functional world of this ancient three-dimensional art form, and create clay-based artworks using the foundational slab, pinch and coil methods of hand-building. Participants will also have the opportunity to experiment with the potter’s wheel and glaze their own creations. Supportive instruction and small class sizes allow for a personalized experience. Our after school courses are designed for curious youth (ages 9 – 13) to explore the world of three-dimensional art through clay and create decorative and functional pottery to bring home. Students will learn to create vessels using the slab or coil method, the pottery wheel, and learn how to glaze their own creations. Supportive, small classes allow for personalized instruction.

Classes for Teens (Ages 14-18)
Potters age 14 to 18 are invited to join our Teen Ceramics class, where students will create bowls, cups, vases, and other vessels utilizing both hand-building and wheel-throwing techniques. On the wheel, participants are introduced to the basics; wedging, centering, trimming, and glazing. Through hand-building, students learn the pinch, coil, and slab methods of manual construction. Individualized instruction for each student will be predicated upon his or her level of proficiency.
