Our after school courses are designed for curious youth (ages 9 – 13) to explore the world of three-dimensional art through clay and create decorative and functional pottery to bring home. Students will learn to create vessels using the slab or coil method, the pottery wheel, and learn how to glaze their own creations. Supportive, small classes allow for personalized instruction.
Classes for Teens (Ages 14-18)
Now featuring 8-week ceramics courses so you can spend even more time this fall with our top-rated instructors in our spacious, light-filled studio. As always, classes feature:
New and experienced potters are welcome to join our class designed specifically for 14-18 years old. Using both handbuilding and wheel throwing techniques, students will make bowls, cups, vases and other vessel forms. On the wheel, students will be introduced to the important basics of wedging, centering, throwing a unique form, trimming, and glazing. Through handbuilding, students will learn pinch, coil and slab construction. Individualized instruction for each student depending on level. Materials Included.Sorry, this course does not include Open Studio time.
