I have been a yoga teacher since 2012; I began my 500-hour teacher training with Alan Finger and Ishta yoga. After my training I have deepened my studies with, Restorative yoga, Aerial, Circus, and Kids yoga, as well as Thai massage.
I began my career working with adults with various developmental disabilities. I pursued BA in Early Childhood Education, as I wanted to be in on the ground floor of learning. In the classroom I brought a whole child approach, teaching to all their interests, this led me to follow my own passions more deeply. I pursued a certificate in Horticultural Therapy from The New York Botanic Gardens, as well as becoming an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) and now a Yoga Teacher.
I am currently blending my love of yoga with early childhood practices. How do we meet the needs of the whole person, weather in the classroom or on the mat, through asana (physical practice) meditation, mindfulness and Thai massage.
I am also a Quaker and believe deeply in the Light that burns bright in every person. I have a strong testimony of simplicity, peace, integrity, community, and equality I use these beliefs as the core of my teaching and believe strongly that our yoga practice most serve us off the mat as well.
