Manny Cantor Center creates meaningful opportunities that empower committed and skilled volunteers to serve our community. We believe that everyone has the ability to serve and we encourage each individual to participate in building a stronger, more connected community by sharing their time and skills.

We offer critical services and programs to more than 1,500 people every day, including meals for the elderly, mentoring for teens, language and workforce training, cultural events, and more.  We need your hands. We need your hearts.

Civic Education:

Democracy only works if we participate, which starts by understanding the issues we face as a community, as a city, and as a nation. This fall we are launching a series called “Why We Vote” in partnership with America 101 Project and Grand Street Dems to take issues we hear about in the news and learn about them from a variety of angles and contexts, so we can best understand why we need to be engaged, and what actions we can take to create the future we want to see.

We are looking to change this statistic in our own neighborhood by ensuring people have the opportunity to register to vote, look up their polling location, and have all the information they need to feel informed when they cast that ballot. Join us for these events or stop by anytime to pick up a voter registration form:
